The Considerate Constructors Scheme has held what it hopes will be the first of many meetings with a number of major construction industry clients.
The meeting, held over lunch in a private dining room at L’Escargot restaurant in London, was to discuss how closer links can be formed between the Scheme and construction industry clients. The Scheme already has strong links with contractors through its Associate Membership and is looking to establish a similarly productive relationship with the client body.
Currently, around fifty per cent of contractor registrations are the result of clients’ stipulation, with the remaining fifty per cent made up of contractors’ voluntary registrations.
David Hardy, Chief Executive of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, said:
“Improving our links with clients who stipulate Scheme registration has been high on the agenda for some time, and I am delighted that we have now been able to discuss this formally and further develop our understanding of client needs. Their views and feedback are vital in helping us shape the way forward and we greatly appreciate their enthusiasm and commitment towards our aim of improving the image of construction. |
