At the most recent meeting with its Associate members, the Considerate Constructors Scheme focused on two of the current environmental issues facing the industry: carbon emissions and waste management.

The Associate members demonstrated their wide ranging expertise, knowledge and interest in tackling these issues and a number of useful conclusions were reached. The results of these meetings form a large part of the ongoing review of the Scheme’s checklist and the requirements the Scheme places on its member sites.

The Associates’ meeting was one of two held each year. The purpose of the meetings is to address current issues relating to the Scheme and the industry, and to update the Associate members on the latest Scheme initiatives.

General Manager, Edward Hardy, commented: ‘The wealth of experience and enthusiasm amongst our Associate members is invaluable as the Scheme works to keep apace with the continually adapting and improving standards within the construction industry.’
