Ongoing consistency of scoring for Scheme Monitors
Future Scheme developments and consistency in scoring were the themes of the recent round of bi-annual meetings held regionally for the Scheme’s 95 Monitors.
The external review of the Scheme and the project to research the site of the future gave much food for thought and discussion and a number of interesting and, as ever, useful ideas and suggestions resulted from the meetings.

With the Scheme continuing to grow and develop at a fast pace, the focus on consistency of scoring remains crucial. To ensure ongoing training and development of the Monitors and to improve all aspects of the overall monitoring process, Monitors were asked to score a report on a fictional site. This exercise showed an overwhelming level of consistency among Monitors, alongside an ongoing desire to improve the service that the Scheme offers to sites and to the industry.
Edward Hardy, the Scheme’s General Manager, commented: “I have once again been impressed by the level of consistency of scoring shown by our Monitors and their desire to see continual improvement in the construction industry. The regional meetings always serve to remind me how committed, enthusiastic and knowledgeable our Monitors are.”
