Associate Members’ meet
The Considerate Constructors Scheme held a fruitful meeting with its Associate Members at Coombe Abbey hotel, Coventry, on 11 November.
Client Partners discuss Scheme
A meeting of the Scheme’s Client Partners was recently held in central London.
New documentation
The Scheme has begun issuing two new pieces of documentation – Considerate Constructors Scheme - an Overview and the Site Managers’ Guide - along with a re-formatted version of its Higher than Satisfactory Performance information.
Cartoon posters
The Scheme has developed a series of eight posters (one for each category of the Code of Considerate Practice), depicting examples of good and bad site working practices in cartoon format.
Scheme’s GM Visits Birse Civils Sites
The Scheme’s General Manager, Edward Hardy, recently visited two of Associate Member, Birse Civils’ sites in Shropshire. The purpose of the visits was to see first hand how they are implementing the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice on two very different projects.
Safe Crane Campaign
The Strategic Forum for Construction’s Tower Cranes Working Group has launched a new initiative on behalf of the industry – The Safe Crane Campaign. This Campaign is aimed at ensuring that tower cranes on UK construction sites are safely erected, maintained, operated and dismantled.
Scheme develops Virtual Site
The Virtual Site is a 3D blueprint of a site, showcasing the current working practices and procedures considered by the Scheme to be higher than satisfactory performance. The Virtual Site also explores the findings of a CIRIA report, commissioned by the Scheme, that looks at how these working practices may change and develop in the future.
30,000 Registrations
The Considerate Constructors Scheme recently celebrated an important milestone in its 11 year history with the help of Willmott Dixon Construction, one of its Associate Members.
Monitors’ Annual Conference
The Scheme’s Monitors and office administration team all met up recently for the Annual Monitors’ Conference.
Documentation updates
As part of the Scheme’s aim to continually improve standards in the construction industry, a new, more challenging version of the Site Monitors’ Checklist is being implemented.
Registration Record for Keepmoat
In a closely-fought contest, Keepmoat plc (comprising Frank Haslam Milan, Bramall Construction and Haslam Homes) has become the first company to reach a total of 1000 site registrations with the Considerate Constructors Scheme since it was started back in 1997.

Annual National Awards 2008

Annual National Awards 2008
Preparations are underway for the Scheme’s 9th Annual National Awards, which will take place over two weeks in April.
This year, around 480 awards will be presented to sites selected from 6500 eligible projects. The Awards will be broken down into Gold, Silver and Bronze categories and one site will be given the ultimate accolade of Most Considerate Site 2008.
